Citicoline — cytidine diphosphate-choline, or CDP-choline — is a naturally occurring compound the body uses to build phosphatidylcholine, the principal phospholipid of the neuronal membrane. This is the trademarked Cognizin® form, which is the one nearly all the human research has been conducted on.
