Colostrum is the first milk, produced in the days immediately before and after birth. It is not milk in the ordinary sense at all: it is thicker, yellower, low in fat, and extraordinarily dense in immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, growth factors, and nucleoproteins. Every mammal makes it, and every newborn depends on it, because it is the medium by which the mother's immune experience is handed to a body that has none of its own yet.
These capsules supply 300 mg of bovine colostrum standardized to 26% immunoglobulins, with naturally occurring lactoferrin and IGF-1. Immunoglobulins are the body's normal antibody proteins; lactoferrin is an iron-binding protein present in most mammalian secretions. Taken as a supplement, colostrum is used to support normal, healthy immune function and the integrity of the gut lining.
Source and handling both matter. The colostrum is collected from USDA-certified Grade A herds at small family dairies, then prepared by lyophilization, a freeze-drying method that removes water without heat. Heat would denature the immunoglobulins and nucleoproteins this product exists to deliver. Cold-drying keeps them intact.
60 capsules, 300 mg each.
