Ubiquinol is the reduced, active form of CoQ10 — the form that has already accepted its electrons and is ready to donate them. Ordinary CoQ10 (ubiquinone) must be converted to ubiquinol before the body can use it as an antioxidant, and that conversion becomes less efficient with age.
This is Kaneka QH™, the original and most studied ubiquinol. It is essential to the body's natural production of ATP and provides antioxidant protection directly to the cell membrane. It also regenerates other antioxidants — vitamin C and vitamin E are returned to their active forms at ubiquinol's expense, which makes it upstream of a good deal of the body's defenses.
Age, sustained stress, and statin drugs all inhibit the body's own production. Take with a meal.
