Catechin & Ellagic Acid Complex

Catechin is the flavonoid that makes green tea astringent and unripe fruit pucker the mouth. It belongs to the flavan-3-ols, the same family as the compounds that give red wine and dark chocolate their character, and it has been studied more than nearly any other plant polyphenol. Ellagic acid is a different molecule with a different source — pomegranate, walnuts, oak-aged spirits — and a different behavior in the body.

Varicosin supplies naturally occurring, individually resolved catechin standardized for catechin gallate and epigallocatechin, alongside ellagic acid. Bioflavonoids of this class donate electrons to free radicals, chelate the transition metals that catalyze oxidative reactions, and are used to support the normal integrity of capillary walls and connective tissue — a role that follows from their long-established relationship with collagen and vascular structure.

Individually resolved matters here. Most flavonoid extracts are crude mixtures of whatever the plant contained. Isolating and standardizing the specific fractions means the dose is a known quantity rather than an approximation.
